Cancellation and Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-10
This page explains how billing, cancellation, and refunds work at TideBrief. It is part of our Terms of Service and is operated by PLAY PLAY CARDS SRL (Romania).
1. Free trial
New paid subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial. We collect a payment method when you start the trial but we don’t charge it during the trial. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your plan begins automatically and your payment method is charged the recurring price you were shown at checkout.
2. Subscription terms
- Billing cycle: monthly or annual, as selected at checkout.
- Recurring charge: the plan price disclosed at checkout, plus applicable taxes (U.S. sales tax where required, EU VAT for EU consumers).
- Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel.
- Price changes: if we change the price for your plan, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and you’ll be able to cancel before the new price applies.
3. How to cancel
Cancelling is at least as easy as signing up. You can cancel anytime, with no phone call, no chat, and no “retention” flow:
- From your account: Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription (one click).
- From any billing email or weekly Brief: click the “Manage subscription” link.
- By email: billing@tidebrief.com — we’ll cancel within one business day and confirm by email.
After you cancel, you keep access through the end of the period you’ve already paid for. You will not be charged again.
4. 30-day money-back guarantee
Within 30 days of your first paid charge (i.e. the first charge after your trial ends), email billing@tidebrief.comfor a full refund — no reason required. We’ll process it back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion, except where statutory rights require otherwise.
Statutory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your state of residence (United States) or your country of residence (EU/EEA/UK) are not affected by this policy.
5. EU/EEA/UK 14-day right of withdrawal
If you reside in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right under EU/UK consumer law to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of signing up, without giving any reason. To do so, email billing@tidebrief.com. By starting to use the Service immediately, you agree that performance of the contract begins during the withdrawal period; if you withdraw, we will refund any amounts you’ve paid, less the prorated value of the Service used up to the day we receive your withdrawal notice.
6. California auto-renewal disclosures
For California residents, in compliance with California Business & Professions Code §§ 17600–17606 (the Automatic Renewal Law):
- Your subscription will continue until you cancel.
- To cancel, follow the instructions in Section 3 above. Online cancellation is available at any time without speaking to a representative.
- The recurring charge and billing frequency are disclosed at checkout and confirmed by email after each charge.
- If we materially change the terms, we’ll email you a clear and conspicuous notice in advance.
- You can request a complete copy of your auto-renewal terms by emailing billing@tidebrief.com.
7. New York and other state notices
New York General Business Law § 527-a, Illinois 815 ILCS 505, North Carolina G.S. § 75-41, and similar state statutes require clear disclosure of auto-renewal terms and an easy online cancellation method. The terms in Sections 2 and 3 satisfy those requirements; if you are a resident of any of these states and have a question, contact billing@tidebrief.com.
8. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries the charge up to three times over 14 days. If the payment ultimately fails, we suspend access until you update the payment method. We won’t bill you for the suspended period, and you can resume anytime.
9. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank — most issues are resolved faster by email. If you initiate a chargeback, we may suspend your account pending investigation, and you remain liable for any fees, taxes, or refunded amounts owed.
