Subscriber Agreement & Auto-Renewal Disclosure
Last updated: 2026-05-10
This is a plain-English summary of how a paid TideBrief subscription works. The full legal terms are in our Terms of Service and Cancellation and Refund Policy. If anything here conflicts with those documents, those documents win.
What you’re buying
A recurring subscription to TideBrief, which delivers a fishing information newsletter (the “Brief”) for the U.S. ZIP codes you select, plus access to the subscriber dashboard.
How billing works
- Trial: 14 days, no charge during the trial.
- First charge: on day 15, your payment method is charged the price you saw at checkout (plus tax where required).
- Recurring charges: on the same date each cycle thereafter (monthly or annual, whichever you chose), at the then-current price for your plan.
- Currency: charges are made in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated at checkout.
- Tax: U.S. sales tax where required by your state; EU VAT for EU consumers.
- Receipts: emailed to you within minutes of each successful charge by Stripe on our behalf.
How auto-renewal works
Your subscription will renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. We do this so your weekly Brief never stops mid-stride. To stop the renewal, cancel before the renewal date using any of the methods in the next section. Once you cancel, you keep access through the end of the period you’ve already paid for; you will not be charged again.
How to cancel (one-click)
Federal FTC rules and many U.S. state laws (including California Business & Professions Code §§ 17600–17606) require us to let you cancel as easily as you signed up. We do that, and we go a step further:
- One click from your settings: /app/settings → Cancel.
- One click from any email we send you: the “Manage subscription” link in the footer.
- By email: billing@tidebrief.com. We respond within one business day.
We will not require you to call, chat, or wait for a retention agent.
Price changes
If we change the price of your plan, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies and tell you exactly what the new charge will be. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
Refunds
Within 30 days of your first paid charge, email billing@tidebrief.comfor a full refund — no questions asked. After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion (and your statutory rights, of course, are preserved).
State and country statutory notices
California
California residents have the rights described in California Business & Professions Code §§ 17600–17606. You may cancel online at any time without speaking to a representative. You may request a copy of these auto-renewal terms by emailing billing@tidebrief.com.
EU/EEA/UK
EU/EEA and UK consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. See Section 5 of the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
